Hasn’t the us declared to the entire world they want to mass surveillance all their citizens when they banned anthropic?

Not necessarily - that was misdirection.

Domestic surveillance was an example of a limitation that Anthropic wanted to put on their software. But in order to enforce that limitation, Anthropic would both need to monitor DoD usage of their tools and have a kill switch. Both of these were the real sticking point and the reason why the Trump Admin was willing to make an example of Anthropic.

I’m all for this. The more cars removed, the more pleasant a city becomes. While i don’t live in a car free city, i don’t own or need a car, when i do, i’m a member of a car share and can just pickup a car from my local supermarket, that i can walk to. I live in a very hilly city, while i walk a lot, i know every lift, escalator and sneaky bus or metro to get me up a hill, it’s no joke here, i used to walk 20min to my job, that had a 200m height difference, but there are paths everywhere.

And the city is working more on greenspaces, little urban oasis’s with a fountain or some trees to provide places to cool down as every year gets hotter

Got some moron in charge taking all progress back 50 years

Just use Safari, it won't even load the page half the time.

Ugh, couldn’t read it, could the guy be less smug about liking classical music

Why should they vibe code it?

Why shouldn't they

I've gone back to flickr for my photo sharing, I've had a pro account for, checks account, oh jeez, 20 years. I stopped using facebook and meta, and it's a solid photo sharing service. I can send links and people just get the photos, imagine that!, no ads, clean interface, lovely.

In one of their transitions, they seemed to somehow deleted most of my photos. I don't know which one exactly, maybe it's my fault somehow.

I just know I didn't log in for 10+ years and now when I do, most of my photos are gone. Oh well

They're also holding the photos that are left hostage; unless you pay them, you can't download the photos you have left there.

I thought it's that and they have them behind a paywall but no - they just somehow don't have them

maybe I will check again

edit: yep they have only my latest 50 photos (from 2014).

edit2: ah they did that in 2024 apparently. oh well whatever.

What a strange and arbitrary cutoff date, is that when you turned 30?

Sorry I just remember from a Tweet that it was the year that many cult movies came, but one of my favorite years is 2000 for both Matrix/American Psycho.

As for the age, no, I was born well after 1995.

This is even stranger, in what way do you think those films espouse the values you touted?

That was my point tho, they are not conservative, Titanic is basically the story of a bouregois woman who on her deathbed remembers a one time fling she had when young, despite a whole life spent with another man. It can be categorizd as cheating of sorts, from a conservative POV, yet it is incredibly popular all around the world as a "romantic story". Similarly a lot of the American rom-coms involve some sort of cheating and they are wildly popular in other parts of the world.

Its not wokeism the issue, its the decrease in artistic quality of movies overall, helped partly by the ideology over craft spirit and the laziness from rentier and extractive studios.

I was watching a youtube video the other day where the guy was complaining his website was dropping off the google search results. Long story short, he reworded it according to advice from Gemini, the more he did it, the better it performed, but he was reflecting on how the website no longer represented him.

Soon, we'll all just be meatpuppets, guided by AI to suit AI.

Actually Louis Rossmann finding himself forced to convert his genuine advocacy for repair into textual convenience.

That’s the one

Who checks to see if it’s backdoored?
