This article is legit, but markdown is good enough to me. Actually, I was using reStructuredText which has a better specification for writing. I switched back to Markdown because its syntax is easier to remember and fulfill most of my needs. The thing I needed was comments for adding folding marks in vim. I use inline <!-- --> to do so and that's OK.

As far as I understood the French president is pushing French most valuated companies to use Mistral. There can't be a more to down strategy :)

When I was young I took time to "optimize" my code where it obviously had no impact, like on simple python scripts. It was just by ego, to look smart. I guess the "early optimization" takes are aimed at young developers who want to show their skills on completely irrelecant places.

Of course with experience, you start to feel when the straight forward suboptimal code will cause massive performance issued. In this case it's critical to take action up front to avoid the mess. Its called software architecture, I guess.

I have been reluctant to use AI as a coding assistant though I have installed claude code and bought a bunch of credits. When I see comments like this I genuinely asking what's the point. Are you sure that going through all of these manipulation instead of directly editing the source code makes you more productive? In which way?

Not trolling, true question.

Years ago, I was joking with my colleagues that I'm living two weeks ahead, writing the present day code is a chore, thinking about the next problems is more important, so that when the time comes to implement them, I know how. I don't have much time to code these days, but I still have the ability to think. Instead of doing the chore myself, I now delegate it to Claude Code. I still do coding occasionally, usually when it's something hard that I know AI will mess up, but in those instances, I enjoy it.

Time is the answer here, if this dance is 2 hours and implementing it by hand is 8 hours you have won.

Also while Claude Code is crunching floats you can do other things (maybe direct another agent instance)

I have been building https://mozaic.link with a friend for a while. It's a bookmark manager with a funny UI. We wanted to make a product with it and get rich but we have no time and we suck at marketing. I use it everyday though.

BTW Pocket was nice because it saved articles so that you can read them offline with a distraction free experience (we don't do that).
